for his cabinet??Where's the change?Rahm Emanuel was making a ton of money off of Freddie Mac
What would you think about that? I think his cabinet is nothing more than the same old crap.Right now... noncommittal. The real test will come next year when they are tested (along with holdover Robert Gates).
The real test will who is chosen to replace John Paul Stevens or Ruth Bader Ginsburg or Antonin Scalia (the three likeliest Supreme Court justices to be replaced; as the court currently is split right down the middle with Anthony Kennedy slightly left.)I think they're all politicians, same as anyone else.Wayyyyyyy better than Mcsame could have done, can you imagine? Not that great...a bunch of Clintonites along with those he feels he must pay back for some reason. The one from his left nostril, Rahm Emanuel, seems rather squishy and malleable, the one from his right nostril, Hillary, has been there a long time and is old and crusty!
I think a basket ball player knows how to pick a team. President-elect Barack Obama is doing well.I think starting with Biden as VP and all the way up through to Clinton at State - Obama has doubled-down on "Experience in Washington" in his Cabinet ... kinda ironic for the "Change Candidate".
But I voted for him, albeit not without some reservations of his own qualifications and lack of experience (I supported Hillary in the primaries) - and so I for one think his picks have been very reassuring!I think his picks are great - a combination of older and experienced, and young a fresh.
I couldn't be happier - and maybe the team that balanced the budget under Clinton will do it again.
Of course Republicans will try to keep the corporate welfare for their rich supporters by blocking everything they can.Great. He's choosing strong people.A lot of Democrats don't like the fact that he's picking old Clinton people, but as a moderate conservative, I think it's the best thing he could have done. Clinton's people know their way around Washington and they know how to get things done. It shows he is very much a pragmatist. Also, keeping Gates on at the Pentagon is a very wise choice; the man is a genius.Don't like the ideal that Gates will be staying . I predicted months ago that he would pick Hillary as Secretary of State and I will just have to trust Obama on the rest of his picks because I don't know much about them...So far, so good. He's going to be a great president.completely agree with you, "gimmie gimmie"Democrats will like his picks.
Republicans won't.
That's just the way Y!A works usually.it was clear to almost half of america before the elections that "change" was an easy word to throw around and didn't buy into the hype. unfortunately, "almost half" was not enough to stop what is coming next. but it doesn't matter to his supporters because as obama changes his position on his promises, his supporters will change with him even if they have to eat garbage.
"never mistake lack of talent for genius"-type o negative.About what I expected:
Following the Keynesian economists who drove us off this cliff to begin with (what I expected when he voted for the bailout)
Following neocon foreign policy (what I expected after his statements post clinching the Dem primary)
I looked at his record, so I never 'believed in' his 'change'.
He is just proving me right.Same way I felt about Clinton's picks. Almost like they picked the same people...Where is the change? So far everything looks like Clinton's third term.
That is not strictly true. I do see the possibility of some serious change as a result of Obama's picks. I see a change to Socialism in favor of Capitalism. I see the Constitution of the United States being rewritten to allow things that the Founding Fathers fought against and banned in the Constitution as currently written.
I see increased taxes. I see increased deficit spending, at a rate higher than anything during the last eight years. The difference will be that because it is a liberal Democrat doing the spending, it is good.I think he has done a great job....who better to fix this country than people who did it in the '90s!Solid professionals.
I particularly like General James Jones in NSA, he's a tough dude with a world of experience. He will not allow Obama to live in a bubble.
No neo-cons either, we might actually have a competent government for a change.Astute, wisely deliberative, good for the nation. He seems to be finding the best, most qualified people to fill the positions, Unlike Bush who's only qualification was that be loyal to him and not question him ever. Bush filled 134 positions with graduates from the Pat Robertson university just to pay back Pat for pushing Bush during the election. Remember "Your doing a great job Browny" His collage rm mateTo the people that keep asking " where is the change" you will never be satisfied. Like President elect Obama said the change will be in the leadership. I think that he is wise to pick experience people who actually will know what they are doing.Barack Obama's picks thus far are experienced, capable, smart and pragmatic. Those adjectives apply to New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (State Department), Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano (Homeland Security), former deputy attorney general Eric Holder (Justice), former Senate majority leader Tom Daschle (Health and Human Services) and -- the most recent leakees -- Timothy F. Geithner, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (Treasury), and retired Marine Gen. James L. Jones (national security adviser).A team that he thinks could help the USA.
It may help or it may not help.
It depends on the future.
I just want to know where the change is...after all, he is only appointing has been's to his cabinet. So far not much of a change. He is picking a brilliant staff. I have never seen such a power house in my life. I love it. This shows Obamas diversity and intelligence. You want to see change? This is the cabinet that can pull it off. #If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
