How can i loose 30 pounds in 1 month?

  • Im 12 years old and i weigh 110 pounds.


  • you do NOT need to lose 30 pounds. how tall are you? 80 pounds for a twelve year old is rather low.


  • Losing 30 pounds in one month is hard and i wouldn't suggest you lose that much in such a short amount of time considering your age, just make sure you eat everything in proportion and don't splurge on any sugary foods, also make sure you eat fruit/veg and do at least one hour of exercise everyday.


  • well it's really hard to do that but u should exercise every day for at least 40 min and change your diet because it is very crucial what you eat.
    good luck but i think 12 yrs old is a little young to be loosing weight u should make a plan of exercise time :D


  • That would be a pound a day, which is ridiculous. You are probably not overweight anyway, and you are too young for extreme diets. At twelve you are not actually old enough to use Yahoo Answers, so go and talk to your mum.


  • umm... if you way 110, unless you are a midget, you probably don't need to lose 30 lbs and you certainly don't want to lose that much in a month, it could make you VERY sick, including causing long term injury to your kidneys and/or liver.

    If you're concerned about your overall weight, especially at your age, you need to talk with a doctor who can help you find a plan that's right for you.


  • impossible th only way to do that is if u starve yourself and do exercise.. but you can do some running and exersize and most importantly AT HEALTHY!! cut back on sodas and start drinking water and no super sugary things


  • See a shrink. Unless you're 3 feet tall or less, you'll be in bad shape.


  • first of all, eating disorders, not the way to go. but heres what you should do. make a plan. choose how much calories you are going to eat per day, and also dont forget to exercise. [[make sure your not doing things to make muscle, but instead do things that burn calories]]. running, dancing, all things like this work. and btw, try for more like 12 lbs. not 30. theres no way you can loose 30 in a month. maybe two and a half months.

    Each pound is 1,500 calories. You would have to cut 11,250 calories from your diet each week (or burn that many). This is impossible and will inevitably end in disappointment.

    You are 12, how tall are you? Remember, you haven't quit growing taller yet - you probably won't until you're about 16.

    If you really think you need to lose weight, try a more realistic goal. Something like 1-2 pounds in one month by cutting back a little bit each day on what you consume, and watching what you eat. If you drink pop, quit. Drink water instead. If you eat a lot of sweet stuff, substitute fruit.

    unless ur like less than 4 feet tall, its very bad for you to loose 30 lbs.
    your weight sounds perfect to me, dont loose any weight!
    if you are absolutely insistant upon loosing wieght i wouldnt advise more than 5-10lbs.


  • Omg, I need to do this, too.Make up an excersize plan for running and cardio.Also, watch what you eat but make sure you don`t get an eating disorder.

  • You need to talk to a school counselor. Your weight is fine for your age, under no circumstances should you be trying to loose weight.

    i lost ten pounds in a week cause i only ate liquid food....(i had to b/c i couldnt open my mouth)
    grind up everything you eat...it tastes the same...but sounds gross.
    oh and although you might not think so...eat breakfast...it gets your matabolism going. i lost five pounds just from eating breakfast every morning...running...and eating healthy


  • hey i am twelve too! I am about 78 pounds. so I consider myself pretty dang skinny. My mom is a personal trainer and so she lets me diet and sometimes i go to work with her like piyo classes and to the gym and stuff. so mainly what you need to work on is dieting. EAT LOTS LOTS LOTS LOTS LOTS AND DARE I SAY IT AGAIN LOTS OF FRUIT AND VEGGIES!!!!!!! IT REALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO! ALSO BY EATING HEALTHY YOU WILL GAIN GREAT SKIN NO ZITS OR UGLY PIMPLES! DRINK SMOOTHIES AND WORK OUT AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN YOU DONT REALLY WANT TO LOOSE 30 POUNDS THATS ALOT FOR OUR AGE BUT ANYWAY I WISH YOU LUCK

  • WHY would you want to lose weight? You are a perfect weight and you are 12 years old.

  • You can't loose 30 pounds in one month. If you loose more than a few pounds a week, your eating your muscles and stroring more fat. Why on earth do you want to loose 30 pounds when you weigh 110? You will end up spending time in rehab with a feeding tube down your throat if you try to do that in one month.
    Side effects of malnutrition :respiratory infections, kidney failure, blindness, heart attack and death.
    Side effects of dehydration:kidney failure, heart failure, seizures, brain damage and death.
    Heres some more: Lanugo - (soft downy hair on face, back and arms). This is caused due to a protective mechanism built-in to the body to help keep a person warm during periods of starvation and malnutrition, and the hormonal imbalances that result.
    Edema - swelling of the soft tissues as a result of excess water accumulation. It is most common in the legs and feet of Compulsive Overeaters and in the abdominal area of Anorexics and/or Bulimics (can be caused by Laxative and Diuretic use).
    Muscle Atrophy - wasting away of muscle and decrease in muscle mass due to the body feeding off of itself.
    Impaired Neuromuscular Function - due to vitamin and mineral deficiencies (specifically potassium), and malnutrition.
    Paralysis - transient (or temporary) paralysis -- extreme weakness of muscles or not being able to move at all -- Caused by low levels of potassium, and/or the degeneration of nerve cells, in the spinal cord or in the brain, which have been deprived of essential nutrients. Left untreated, periods of paralysis may happen more frequently and more severely, lead to permanent muscle weakness, and even result in death.
    Tearing of Esophagus - caused by self-induced vomiting
    Gastric Rupture - spontaneous stomach erosion, perforation or rupture.
    The list goes on and on. If this still doesn't deter you, you need to seek some psychiatric help.


  • First off weighing 80 pounds in one month at your age can be dangerous since your still young and need some fats to grow. I could see losing 10 pounds witch can easily be done by a good balance or nutritious foods and exercise. Also you did not mention your height which has a great deal to do with how much you should weigh weigh around 88 pounds if your height is 4'6. slowing working at your goal will set you up for success instead of harming your self greatly

    In fact its proven that if you balance nutrition and eat at al meals you will lose more weight. when you skip a meal your body goes into survival mode because it does not no when its going to eat again and your body takes more of the fats from foods.

    Basically good food habits. smaller proteins 4, 5 times a day ( breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, snack.) make sure you do not eat before you go to bed so cut it off around 8.

  • lol if uw anna get to 80 lbs ur crazy, but get up every morning and run 4 miles, youll be fit as a whistle!

  • you can only lose about 2 pounds a week safely. lose the weight with guidance or you might make yourself sick. cut down your caloric intake and increase your exercising.
