Word Stops Responding on File>Open
MS Knowledgebase has no articles I could find.
The user has correct permissions to the network drive and can access it normally through My Computer.
I was a little iffy on the SP option, since you could have already installed it :)
Turns out the network drive for my user had 192 directories in the root....apparently if you do not have the latest service pack the limit is 189 directories.
SP3 fixes that specific problem.
(Now I just have to get my System Admins to apply the Service Packs to the network install for all my users)
Office Program Stops Responding in the Open Dialog Box,
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;298417) but all it says is to install the Service Pack. Don't know how much help that will be.
The only other thing I can think of off-hand would be that maybe it's just hanging while accessing the network? I've had programs that I thought had frozen before, but turned out to be simply going extremely slowly.
I doubt this is really as much help as you were hoping for, but it's all that I can come up with right now. Maybe someone else has some other ideas? :)
