XBMC dashboard wont loadup on start

  • I am having trouble getting XBMC to be the default dashboard. I already have XBMC running through th E drive so it works fine. I have been trying the download shortcut by changing the name of the files to my default.xbe and it still boots up in evolution x, i can still get to XBMC through the apps, but I would like it to boot up as dash instead of evolution x, any suggestions?


  • Don't do anything until you are sure you:

    1. Know what you are doing.

    2. Know how to recover if 1 turns out to be incorrect.

    The online manual (link in my sig) sets out what to do fairly clearly - basically:

    1. Find out what xbe is evox (you can test by running different ones from the XBMC file manager for instance).

    2. Rename that to one of the "fallback" xbe names.

    3. Upload the shortcut xbe, named whatever the evox xbe used to be named.

    4. Upload the shortcut .cfg, configured appropriately to point to your XBMC xbe (probably E:AppsXBMCdefault.xbe)

    5. Reboot.


  • rename evoxdash.xbe and name the xbmc xbe to evoxdash.xbe


  • I looked in the c drive on the xbox and the xbe file in there right now is, xboxdash.xbe, will changing it to that mess it up at all? or you are sure it will work
