K9 spam assassin

  • Hi,

I've been using OP2.5 for a couple of weeks with few problems, apart that is, from the component control which has been disabled. Incoming mail is filtered using K9 (the mail programmes I use are either Incredimail or OE) and everything has worked fine until today when, for some unknown reason, incoming mail via K9 is blocked. I've tried removing K9 and using the default e-mail client which is suggested by the rules wizard but it still doesn't work. I've seen the OP2.5 - what to expect thread and am aware that proxies apparently need an extra rule (I'll give this a try tonight when I get back home) but why was K9 accepted for weeks before being thrown out by OP this morning for no apparent reason ? Does anyone out there use K9 ?

    Thanks

  • Well,

I've received no replies so presumably nobody uses K9. However, the problem must occur with other proxies as well. I've followed the instructions on "OP2.5 - what to expect" all to no avail. I've added extra rules to cater for traffic in both directions but doesn't work. The funny thing is is that on the same LAN, I have a client PC, which connects via ICS through the host desktop which has the problem, with exactly the same K9 settings as the host (without the extra rules I've added) and K9 works perfectly. I've had to delete K9 for the time being and am relying on Incredimail's own spam filter (which doesn't appear to be very good !).

I really am thinking of going back to OP2.1 - the new version has already cost me many lost hours.
