A big thank you to all the helpers!!
I recently upgraded from version 2.1 to version 2.5.370.
The upgrading process was not an easy one. It happens that the instructions provided by Agnitum concerning Outpost upgrading (from version 2.1 to version 2.5) make the user suppose that you can upgrade installing version 2.5 build 370 over version 2.1. In fact, when performing the upgrade in such a way, the installation program recognizes the existence of an Outpost previous version, and one gets inded the message that this version is being uninstalled. I do not know why, but the upgrading process performed this way went wrong: for the first time, something was going wrong with Process Guard from DCS (immediately after upgrading Outpost) and, besides that, it seemed to me that I had got an upgraded Oupost version that simply blocked all my Internet access.
I had carefully made a system backup with Image for Dos before trying to upgrade. So, I soon reverted to this saved state and, this time, I decided to do a fresh install of version 2.5, after uninstalling completely version 2.1.
This time, I had no problems with Process Guard, but Outpost continued to refuse me Internet access.
Although very upset with this situation, I decided to browse through the different threads of thiis Forum, trying to discover what might be the problem and how it could be solved. I did read many complaints about version 2.5, written by angry users, and noticed the effort and patience exercised by the helpers, trying to help solving what might be Outpost configuration problems.
These advices and helping tips provided by the helpers here, have indeed assisted me a great deal in getting my Outpost functioning again. Of course I had to read many threads and several posts. But, in the end, my persistence and patience paid off.
So, I would just like to say to other forum members: do not give up if you're facing problems with Outpost configuration, as the help you can find here is quite useful!!
And, to all the helpers here, my big THANK YOU!!
